Acupuncture is a preventative form of medicine
Acupuncture treatment can increase your resistance to cold and flu. People often find they get ill less often and recover faster.
Stress has become an inevitable part of many of our lives. Acupuncture can give you resources to handle stress and its effects on your health.

Who has acupuncture?

Many people come to acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or to relieve specific pains like osteo-arthritis of the knee. Some use acupuncture because they feel generally unwell but have no obvious diagnosis. Others choose acupuncture simply to enhance their feeling of well-being. Acupuncture is considered safe for all ages and can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine.

What does it feel like?
Acupuncture needles are much finer than needles used for injections and blood tests. When the needle is inserted you may feel a tingling sensation or a dull ache. Most patients find acupuncture treatment to be a very calming experience.

Is it safe?
The single-use sterile needles come in sealed packs: they should be opened in front of you and are safely disposed of after each treatment.

Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, improve mood and energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body.
Acupuncture works by stimulating precise points along the meridians to restore your flow of chi and return you to full health. This is done by inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of your body’s vital energy. Many people actually describe a tingling sensation along the exact pathway of a meridian, without even knowing it exists.

Traditional Chinese Medicine sees your body as a single entity, with each part depending on, and influencing all the other parts. This "whole body" approach means that treatment addresses the complete systems of your body rather than just attending to your symptoms. Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of well-being.
